About
Inspired heavily by classics like Streets of Rage (clearly), STREETS OF GAM3S was built for the Gam3s.gg game jam. Play as Cipher or Omar as they look to clean up the streets from some unsavory characters, and take out their leader, Bovyse!

Patch Notesv1.2
v1.2Sep 2026

◆ Retooled the game to use internal assets and no splash screen, per the specs of Remix.
◆ Fixed the resolution so that it actually should be dynamic across devices.
◆ Changed the HUD some so that score and health were together (no more scanning all over the screen for stuff you want to see), and added some better visual indicators when you have special charges stored up.
◆ Differentiation between the characters. Previously, they were both exactly the same, but just different skins. Now Omar is faster, more forgiving than Cipher, but he also hits softer than she does.
◆ Adjusted the way combos work to allow for better combo scoring, and made the combo multiplier visible.
◆ Adjusted movement so it's no longer a purely left/right experience (we found the Y axis y'all).
◆ Adjusted the character's jump motion to be less floaty and more fluid.
◆ Had to retool the interactions with barrels and hydrants because of the new movement.
◆ Made NPCs smarter, buffed their health, and overall made the game a bit more challenging. Enemies now retaliate if you knock them down and stand too close when they get back up, they flank better (because they now have access to the y axis as well), and they are smarter about positioning (the dumb ones are still dumb by design though).
◆ Added better visual cues to know when an enemy is about to attack, health pickups, etc..
◆ Boss was reworked a bit so that the player couldn't get in a stunlock battle with him. He still hits like a truck though, so be careful.
◆ Added in accessibility options that I didn't have time to put in during the game jam to reduce flashing, and stop screenshake.
◆ Fixed various bugs that didn't harm gameplay, but worked in unintended ways.
